Shop, Live, Love Coopersville

A Marketing Project to promote the members of the Coopersville Area Chamber of Commerce and the Coopersville Community.
The CACC "Shop Local" Shopping Bag program allows members to provide branded merchandise at a very inexpensive cost to place inside a Chamber/Community-branded, re-usable shopping bag. These bags are then provided to chamber members to be given to new customers or new residents to the community. The program ties together the Chamber, local businesses and the school system (whose graphic arts students provided the artwork through a class contest) with local residents. It creates a positive image by providing free gifts to the end user, creates awareness of the services of business sponsors, promotes a positive recycling mentality and shows a direct benefit of Chamber membership to our members and the community. The group contacted the High School Art and Graphic design instructor to present the idea of a logo competition, to create a logo that would be printed on the shopping bag. Student Rachel Myszak created the top 3 logos and made needed adjustments. A printing company that is a member of the chamber did the setup and printing of the first 300 bags. The program was then kicked off at the annual business meeting of the Chamber in January where each member in attendance received a Shop, Live, Love Coopersville bag filled with marketing materials from our members. Although many communities have local shopping bag initiatives, our bags include the promotional materials, coupons, gifts, and much more from our Chamber members. "Bag Sponsors" pay to have the bags printed and are then identified as sponsors on the back of the bag and with a window decal for their business as sponsors of the "2015-2016 Shop, Live, Love Coopersville" campaign.
