Operation Connect is a program that assists transitioning military personnel build their professional network for future success.
Operation Connect provides a complimentary, one-day workshop for transitioning military personnel that centers on the importance of building professional networks. When transitioning military personnel have 10, 20 or 30 years in the military, they often have a difficult time articulating their skill set from military language to corporate language, so the workshop also provides practical advice for interviews and technical information regarding resumes and the use of LinkedIn. An interactive program features a panel of speakers with military backgrounds who have successfully transitioned into the business world. Practicing what they have learned is an integral part of the workshop, so attendees are given a six-month, complimentary membership with the Chamber, which includes free entry to our monthly networking event, Regional Connect. A vital piece of this program is that each veteran is assigned a Mentor from the business community who is available to share their own professional experiences--successes and setbacks--so mentees can benefit from their experience. The Mentors meet their mentee at their first Regional Connect business networking event and they guide them through the process of introduction.
